Privacy Policy

How Job Yanga handles your information.

1. Overview

Job Yanga helps people discover jobs and prepare applications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and how to contact us about your data.

When you use Job Yanga, your information may be handled as described in this policy. We use a number of third-party services, including Google Firebase, Google AdMob, and RevenueCat, to run the app. These services are described in Section 4.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Job Yanga, we may collect:

  • Account details, such as your email address, sign-in identifiers, and account status. We use Firebase Authentication to create and secure your account.
  • Sign-in provider details. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive basic account information from that provider, such as a unique identifier, your name, and your email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide it with Sign in with Apple). We never receive your password for those accounts.
  • Profile information, such as your name, phone number, preferred roles, locations, skills, work preferences, and work history.
  • Job preferences, such as the roles, locations, salary expectations, and other criteria you set to guide job matching.
  • CV or resume uploads, plus structured information we extract from them.
  • Job activity, such as viewed jobs, skipped jobs, saved jobs, and application-related actions.
  • AI tool inputs and outputs, including fit checks, tailored CV content, application letters, and interview prep results.
  • Purchase and credit information, such as purchase verification status, subscription status, credit balances, and credit usage history. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat; we do not receive or store your full card details.
  • Push notification tokens, which let us deliver notifications to your device through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Advertising information, such as your device advertising identifier and limited data about the ads you see and interact with, including rewarded ads, collected through Google AdMob.
  • Analytics information, such as screens viewed, features used, session details, and other usage events, collected through Firebase Analytics.
  • Crash and diagnostic information, such as crash logs, error reports, device state at the time of a crash, app version, and performance data, collected through Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, and general location inferred from your IP address.
  • Support messages you send to us by email or other support channels.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your Job Yanga account, including sign-in with Google, Facebook, or Apple.
  • To build and update your profile.
  • To recommend jobs and improve matching quality based on your job preferences.
  • To support saved-job behaviour and recommendation feedback.
  • To generate AI outputs when you ask for them.
  • To manage free daily usage, paid credits, subscriptions, and purchase verification.
  • To send push notifications, such as job alerts and account updates, unless you have turned them off.
  • To show ads, including rewarded ads that let you earn in-app benefits, and to measure their performance.
  • To understand how the app is used through analytics so we can improve it.
  • To detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
  • To run, secure, debug, and improve the service.
  • To respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.
  • To meet legal obligations, enforce our terms, and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on trusted third-party services to operate Job Yanga. These providers process certain information on our behalf or, in some cases, as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. The main services we use are:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — to create and secure your account and to support sign-in.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — to measure how the app is used.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — to collect crash and diagnostic reports.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — to deliver push notifications.
  • Google AdMob — to show ads, including rewarded ads, and to measure their performance.
  • RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store and Google Play — to process and verify purchases and subscriptions.
  • Google, Facebook, and Apple sign-in — to let you sign in using an existing account.

These providers handle your information under their own privacy policies, including Google, RevenueCat, Meta (Facebook), and Apple. We encourage you to review them to understand how your information is handled.

5. Advertising

Job Yanga shows ads through Google AdMob, including rewarded ads that let you earn in-app benefits such as credits in exchange for watching an ad. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may use your device advertising identifier and limited information about your device and ad interactions.

You can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings — under Google settings on Android, or under Privacy & Security (Tracking) on iOS. Limiting personalisation does not remove ads, but it may make them less relevant. For more detail, see how Google uses advertising data.

6. Push notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications such as job alerts and account updates through Firebase Cloud Messaging. To do this, we store a push token that identifies your device's app installation.

You can turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings or, where available, in the app's notification settings. Turning them off does not delete your account or affect other features.

7. Analytics and crash reporting

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes and errors. These tools collect usage events, device and app information, and crash diagnostics so we can keep the app stable and improve it over time.

This information is used to operate and improve Job Yanga and is not used to show you ads.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the service providers described in Section 4 and with other providers that help us run Job Yanga, such as providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, advertising, payment verification, storage, support, and AI processing.

We may also share information if the law requires it, if we need to protect our rights or the rights of others, if we are investigating fraud or abuse, or if the business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.

9. AI tool data

When you use AI tools in Job Yanga, we may use your profile data, job details, and related context to generate outputs such as fit checks, tailored CV suggestions, application letters, and interview prep content.

AI-generated content is there to help you prepare applications. You are responsible for reviewing it and deciding whether to use it before you submit anything to an employer.

10. Data retention

We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the service, maintain account history, manage credits and purchases, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the platform from abuse.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data unless we need to keep some records for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, or other legitimate operational reasons.

11. Your choices and rights

  • You can update your profile and job preferences in the app when those features are available.
  • You can turn push notifications on or off in your device or app settings.
  • You can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
  • You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data.
  • You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, profile, applications, credits history, and saved job activity.
  • If you cannot sign in, you can request account deletion through our delete account page or by email.
  • You can stop using the service at any time, subject to any legal obligations that still apply to retained records.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No security method is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Children's privacy

Job Yanga is not intended for children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will review the report and take appropriate action.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. If you keep using the service after the updated policy takes effect, the new version will apply.
